Black tie has not forever been the most formal necktie colour. In many parts of Europe men wear white ties at meetings, conferences and formal events. Silver ties have been seen as a timeless wedding colour and can be worn by the groom in any of the four wedding seasons. Solid colour silver ties are made from a fine and shiny silk fabric and is most popularly worn colour by the groom.

Similarly, Britain and Germany have a trend for white ties and are very popular at formal and red carpet events. However, in the US the white tie is still a formal necktie, although RnB artists wear white ties with casual clothing and see it as a fashion statement.
